The Story
District Art Conservation is owned and operated by Anna ErÅŸenkal who specializes in the conservation of paintings. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Anna has worked at several local institutions including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, National Gallery of Art and Glenstone Foundation. In 2020, she graduated from SUNY Buffalo State University, one of the few conservation graduate programs to offer a dual master of arts in Conservation of Art and Cultural Heritage and a master of science in Conservation Science and Imaging. As a third-year Fellow at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she performed in-depth research and treatment on Picasso's Chrysanthemums (1901) and continues to work with colleagues at other museums to further her research. Anna continues to broaden her conservation skills by regularly attending professional workshops and conferences. She is an active member of the American Institute for Conservation and the Washington Conservation Guild.
